Hai Phong promotes exchanges and cooperation with Cambodian youth
Hai Phong seeks to strengthen exchanges and experience sharing between the youth of Vietnam and Cambodia, contributing to fostering friendship between the two countries.
Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, received a courtesy visit from a high-level delegation of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, led by Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Civil Service and Chairman of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, during the delegation’s working visit to Hai Phong on September 24.
Welcoming the delegation to Hai Phong, Vice Chairman Dao Trong Duc emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia are neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional friendship, which has been diligently nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
Regarding cooperation with Cambodia, Hai Phong has maintained and gradually expanded cooperation across various fields. In the first eight months of 2026, two-way import-export turnover reached nearly USD 9.5 million, up 121.18% year on year.
Hai Phong has also drafted a resolution of the City People’s Council on mechanisms and policies to support the training of Lao and Cambodian students studying under cooperation agreements at educational institutions in the city, while maintaining friendship and cooperation with Preah Sihanouk Province. These efforts contribute to strengthening connections and exchanges between Hai Phong and Cambodian localities and partners.
The delegation’s working visit to Hai Phong provided an opportunity for the delegates to gain first-hand knowledge of the city’s development, potential and strengths, thereby opening up more opportunities for exchange, connection and cooperation between Hai Phong and Cambodian partners across various fields.
Duc expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation in trade, education and healthcare, and that Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many, in his capacity as Chairman of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, would continue to support efforts to strengthen exchanges between Cambodian and Hai Phong youth.
Thanking the city’s leaders for their warm reception, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many spoke highly of Hai Phong’s development achievements, particularly its double-digit growth for 11 consecutive years, which he said demonstrates the city’s strong momentum and development potential.
Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many affirmed that he would continue to support increased exchanges and engagement between Cambodian and Hai Phong youth. This would help expand cooperation and deepen mutual understanding, contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the two countries toward the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations.
