Hai Phong finswimmer claims four golds at Asian junior championship
Hai Phong finswimmer Nguyen Thanh Toan has won four gold medals, helping the Vietnamese team finish first at the Asian junior championship.
Vietnamese finswimmers delivered an impressive performance to secure top spot at the 2026 CMAS Asian Championship Finswimming Indoor Juniors, held in China from September 15 to 21.
The Vietnamese team made a strong mark at the championships, winning a total of 79 medals, including 33 gold, 31 silver and 15 bronze medals.
Hai Phong’s young finswimmer Nguyen Thanh Toan contributed to the team’s achievement with an outstanding performance, securing gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 400m immersion finswimming events and the 1,500m surface finswimming event. The athlete also won silver medals in the 400m and 800m surface finswimming events and bronze medals in the 50m and 100m surface finswimming events.
The championship is part of the competition system of the World Underwater Federation (CMAS), bringing together young athletes from many Asian countries.
