Hai Phong spends over VND 82.9 billion on worker support
Since the beginning of 2026, the Hai Phong Trade Union has carried out a wide range of practical support and welfare activities worth over VND 82.9 billion for members and workers.
Caring for workers during Tet (New Year) was the largest-scale activity, with total funding of more than VND 63.8 billion, supporting 101,489 union members and workers.
Of this amount, the Hai Phong Confederation of Labor provided support worth more than VND 50.4 billion to 88,639 people through such forms of assistance as Tet allowances, gifts, bus tickets to return home, and Tet gifts for workers living away from their hometowns.
The city provided VND 11.8 billion in support for 11,800 people. From socialized funding and other sources, 1,050 union members and workers received gifts worth a total of more than VND 1.66 billion.
Along with Tet support, the City Confederation of Labor provided assistance for 1,179 people suffering from serious illnesses, work-related accidents or unexpected incidents, with total funding of more than VND 4.47 billion.
During Workers’ Month 2026, 3,888 union members and workers facing difficult circumstances received support totaling more than VND 4.38 billion.
Through the “Union Member Benefits” program, the City Confederation of Labor connected with businesses and service providers to offer preferential products and services to 13,075 union members, with a total value of more than VND 9.67 billion.
