Improving clinical pharmacy quality to ensure patient safety
Hai Phong is taking synchronous measures to improve the quality of clinical pharmacy services, contributing to the rational, safe and effective use of medicines and ensuring patient safety.
The Hai Phong Department of Health has coordinated with Ha Noi University of Pharmacy to implement a plan to improve the quality of clinical pharmacy services in Hai Phong for 2026 – 2027.
Under the plan, by the end of the third quarter of 2027, 100% of selected healthcare facilities are expected to develop and implement clinical pharmacy activity plans and issue and fully update professional procedures; 100% of pharmacists performing clinical pharmacy duties are expected to receive training and update their knowledge in accordance with regulations.
The plan will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1, from September 2026 to the end of February 2027, will be piloted at Viet Tiep Hospital, Hai Duong General Hospital, Hai Phong Children's Hospital and Kien An Hospital. Phase 2, from March to the end of September 2027, will expand the implementation to selected hospitals and medical centers.
Improving the quality of clinical pharmacy services aims to enable the early detection of inappropriate issues in medicine use, control medicine-related risks, and ensure that patients use medicines safely, rationally and effectively.
