Hai Phong expected to exceed 2026 social housing target
Hai Phong is accelerating the construction of projects and is expected to exceed the target of putting more than 7,100 social housing units on the market in 2026.
By the end of August, Hai Phong had completed 2,050 social housing units, equivalent to 28.7% of the plan. The completed units are concentrated in three projects: the new urban area and urban renewal project in Dong Hoa Ward, with 519 units; Phase 1 of the social housing project in Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone, Trang Cat Ward, with 1,233 units; and the social housing blocks within the residential area, worker housing and industrial service project in Tan Truong Industrial Park, with 298 units.
To meet the target of 7,135 units this year, the remaining projects need to complete about 5,085 more units in the final four months of the year. According to the Department of Construction, these projects are under construction at the structural stage and expected to be completed this year, making it possible for the city to meet and exceed the target.
To ensure progress, the Municipal People's Committee has instructed departments, agencies, localities and investors to focus on resolving difficulties and obstacles during project implementation; accelerate investment and construction, complete relevant procedures, and strive to complete the projects according to plan.
Accelerating the construction of ongoing projects is identified as an important solution to increase the housing supply and meet the needs of residents, workers and employees.
