Over 1.1 million Hai Phong students begin new school year
Central and Hai Phong leaders have attended opening ceremonies for the 2026 – 2027 school year at schools across the city.
On the morning of September 5, more than 1.1 million students across Hai Phong attended opening ceremonies, officially beginning the 2026 – 2027 school year. The ceremonies were held simultaneously throughout the city, creating a joyful and solemn atmosphere on the first day of the new school year.
At Ngo Quyen Senior High School, Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, attended the opening ceremony with the school’s teachers and students.
Also attending were Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, and Head of the City National Assembly Delegation and Dao Trong Duc, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee.
Ngo Quyen Senior High School was Hai Phong’s central venue, connected online to the opening ceremony for the 2026 – 2027 school year and the inauguration of multi-level boarding schools in land-border communes, which was broadcast live on VTV1 channel.
At the same time, at Vo Thi Sau Junior High School, Le Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Council, attended the opening ceremony with nearly 1,800 students. The 2026 – 2027 school year holds special significance for the school as it is approaching its 100th anniversary of establishment and development.
At Nguyen Van Cu Senior High School, Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, attended the opening ceremony and congratulated the school’s teachers and students. Together with delegates, the school’s teachers and students watched online the opening ceremony for the new school year and the inauguration ceremony for multi-level boarding schools in land-border communes.
On the opening day, schools across the city simultaneously began the new school year in a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, demonstrating their determination to fulfill their teaching and learning tasks. The direct attendance and participation of the Central and city leaders at various schools helped encourage Hai Phong’s teachers and students on the first day of the 2026 – 2027 school year.
