Khuc Thua Du Temple Festival opens
This year's festival is held in conjunction with the announcement of the decision recognizing Khuc Thua Du temple, a national historical relic, as a tourist attraction.

Khuc Thua Du Commune opened the 2026 Khuc Thua Du Temple Festival on September 2 to commemorate the 1,119th death anniversary of Khuc Thua Du and announce the decision of the Hai Phong People's Committee recognizing the temple, a national historical relic, as a tourist attraction.

Khuc Thua Du temple is dedicated to First Lord Khuc Thua Du, Middle Lord Khuc Hao and Later Lord Khuc Thua My, who made contributions to resisting the domination of the Tang Dynasty and helped lay the foundations for Vietnam's national autonomy in the early 10th century.

The festival is an occasion for locals and visitors to respectfully commemorate and express gratitude for the contributions and merits of their forefathers to their homeland and country, thereby helping nurture pride in historical traditions, foster patriotism, and raise awareness of preserving and promoting the nation's fine cultural values.

This is also an opportunity to widely introduce and promote the historical, cultural and architectural values of the relic, helping it increasingly become a meaningful destination for locals and visitors seeking to learn about history and culture.
