Hai Phong organizes a series of activities to celebrate National Day

Along with the rest of the country, Hai Phong is organizing a wide range of activities for citizens to mark the 81st anniversary of the August 1945 Revolution and National Day (September 2).

A new highlight of Hai Phong, the night market will open every Friday and Saturday from 4 pm to midnight, from August 28 to October 24, 2026, featuring food demonstrations, artistic performances and experiential activities, creating additional spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy recreation and cuisine during the National Day holiday.

In addition, many artistic programs are being held at cultural venues across the city.

Hai Phong Contemporary Art Theater will present the program Duoi Anh Sao Doc Lap (Under the Independent Stars) on the evening of September 1 at the City Opera House Square. The program features singing, dancing and music performances recreating the tradition of revolutionary struggle, the wartime years and images of the country’s development today.

On the evening of September 2, the mass art program Bai Ca Doc Lap (Song of Independence) will take place at the outdoor stage of the Youth Cultural Palace, serving residents on National Day.

The “Hai Phong Concert 2026” is scheduled to take place on September 20 at the Hoa Phuong Theater, performed by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.

During the holiday, the city’s cultural institutions will organize various activities for residents. Hai Phong Museum will remain open throughout the holiday, introducing its exhibition spaces and displays to visitors. A highlight is the exhibition room “Hai Phong: 30 Years of Resistance Against Foreign Aggression, Nation Building and Defense (1945 - 1975)” at its first facility at 66 Dien Bien Phu Street, Hong Bang Ward, helping the public learn about the process of fighting for, building and defending the homeland and country.

Also during this period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the City Police are co-organizing an exhibition of photos and documents, along with a display of equipment supporting traffic safety, fire prevention and firefighting, and search and rescue operations at two locations: the Exhibition House - Center for Culture, Cinema and Exhibitions at No. 1 Nguyen Duc Canh Street, Hong Bang Ward, the exhibition and the Xu Dong Cultural Center on Ton Duc Thang Street, Le Thanh Nghi Ward.
