Hai Phong forecast to see rain and thunderstorms
Cloudy conditions are forecast to persist across Hai Phong on August 30, with showers and thunderstorms in many areas.
According to the 4 am bulletin issued by the Hai Phong Hydro-Meteorological Station, a convective cloud system is developing and causing rain over the Gulf of Tonkin.
Early this morning, the cloud system is forecast to continue developing, bringing rain and thunderstorms to the Gulf of Tonkin, including Bach Long Vi special zone. It may then bring thunderstorms to villages and residential groups in Nam Do Son, Do Son and Cat Hai.
The affected areas may extend to eastern parts of the city, including An Bien, Hai An, Kien An, Phu Lien, Hung Dao, Duong Kinh, An Quang, An Truong, Kien Hai, Kien Hung, Nghi Duong, Quyet Thang, Tien Lang, Tan Minh, Vinh Bao, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Vinh Hai, Vinh Hoa, Vinh Thinh... and surrounding areas.
During thunderstorms, people should watch out for whirlwinds, lightning and strong gusts of wind, which may break or uproot trees and damage houses, traffic facilities and infrastructure.
The weather in Hai Phong on August 30 will remain cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms expected in many areas in the late afternoon, evening and at night, while some places may see moderate to heavy rain.
