Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung expressed his emotion at presenting Party badges to those who joined the Party in the early years of the resistance war against French colonialism and devoted their entire lives, intellect and strength to the Party, the Fatherland and the people.
According to the Prime Minister, the 80-year, 75-year and 70-year Party membership badges not only recognize a long period of standing in the ranks of the Party but also reflect a process of dedication and steadfast commitment to revolutionary ideals. Although they worked in different positions, fields and circumstances, all veteran Party members shared the same ideal of serving the Fatherland and the people, contributing to the growth of Hai Phong Party organization and the revolutionary cause of the country.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the country is entering a new stage of development, with requirements for rapid and sustainable development, with the people at the center, as the subjects and the goal. With its strategic position and potential and advantages in terms of nature, history and people, Hai Phong must be one of the pioneering localities and among the fastest- and most sustainably developing, making a worthy contribution to realizing the country's two strategic centenary goals. This is also a practical way for the city Party organization, authorities and people to carry on and live up to the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations.

The Prime Minister expressed his wish that the veteran Party members would continue to bring into play their experience, intellect and prestige, contributing to Party and government building; educating and encouraging their descendants; and passing on to younger generations patriotism, the will for self-reliance and self-strengthening, a sense of responsibility to the community, and aspirations to build their homeland and country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Chau expressed his deep respect and gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices made by the veteran Party members to the revolutionary cause and to the city's construction and development.

Chau affirmed that the city Party organization, authorities and people would seriously implement the Prime Minister's directions; continue to better care for the material and spiritual lives of veteran Party members; and fully and promptly implement policies for people with meritorious services and elderly people.
The city Party organization, authorities and people are determined to stay united, innovative and creative to build a rapidly developing and modern Hai Phong, turning it into a marine economic center and a civilized, ecological, smart and worth-living city, and continuously improve people's quality of life to be worthy of the contributions of previous generations.
