Strong consumer spending drives 15.38% growth in retail and services
Hai Phong’s total retail sales and service revenue reached an estimated VND 244.75 trillion in the first seven months of 2026, up 15.38% year on year.
According to the Hai Phong People’s Committee’s socio-economic report, the city’s total retail sales and service revenue in July 2026 was estimated at VND 36.91 trillion, an increase of 16.63% compared with the same month last year.
For the first seven months of 2026, the figure reached an estimated VND 244.75 trillion, up 15.38% year on year.
The growth was driven by rising consumer spending, shopping and service demand during the peak summer tourism season. Accommodation, food services, transportation, and recreation all benefited from favorable conditions, contributing to higher retail sales and service revenue across the city.
At the same time, industrial production, import-export activities, port operations and logistics remained strong, providing additional momentum for wholesale trade, goods circulation, transportation, warehousing and fuel consumption.
Throughout July, the city continued implementing trade promotion programs, supply-demand matching initiatives, and campaigns to promote and market local products, helping stimulate consumer demand, expand markets and boost commercial and service activities.
