Accelerating socio-economic development, industrial infrastructure construction in southern Hai Phong
Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Do Thanh Trung has called for speeding up project implementation to create a foundation for attracting investment and driving growth in the southern part of the city.

Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee, worked with the communes of Kien Hai, Kien Hung, Nghi Duong, Chan Hung, Hung Thang and Nguyen Binh Khiem on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and met with investors of several projects in the area on August 19.
Positive results recorded in many socio-economic indicators
In line with the city’s growth requirements, the localities have focused on tasks with a direct impact, including disbursement of public investment, State budget revenue collection, site clearance for key projects, development of land databases, administrative reform, and digital transformation.
The localities have also focused on ensuring national defense and security, implementing social welfare policies, caring for residents’ lives, and maintaining the stable operation of grassroots authorities.

Notably, the six communes are located within the development space of the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone, where a number of major and key projects are being implemented, including Nam Do Son Port, Hai Phong LNG Thermal Power Plant, Tan Trao and Tien Lang 1 industrial parks, Zone B of Tien Lang Airport Industrial Park, as well as transport and technical infrastructure projects connecting the area.
Several industrial park and cluster projects have been launched and are undergoing site clearance and infrastructure construction.
Speeding up industrial infrastructure projects to create a foundation for attracting investment
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Do Thanh Trung acknowledged the efforts of the localities in implementing socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security, caring for residents’ lives, and closely coordinating with investors, businesses and specialized agencies on site clearance for projects.
However, some infrastructure investment and industrial park development projects remain behind schedule and face numerous difficulties and obstacles. Meanwhile, the high growth target is creating significant pressure, requiring the projects to be accelerated further so that they can soon generate results, providing a foundation for attracting investment and contributing to the city’s growth.

Trung asked the investors to mobilize resources and accelerate project implementation in line with schedules and commitments. Departments, agencies and localities must proactively coordinate and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, ensuring that the projects are implemented in a synchronized manner and meet the development requirements of the areas.
Regarding socio-economic development tasks, the chairman asked the localities to review each indicator and clearly identify delayed tasks for focused implementation; accelerate efforts to achieve the 2026 targets, particularly budget revenue collection, public investment disbursement, site clearance and project implementation.
Alongside developing infrastructure for production and business activities, the localities must also ensure essential conditions for residents’ lives. The chairman directed relevant agencies to develop specific plans and take decisive measures to urgently resolve the provision of clean water to the communes, while ensuring continuous and stable electricity supply to meet the areas’ development needs.
