Hai Phong ready to shine with Miss World 2026
More than 130 Miss World 2026 contestants will gather at Doi Rong, kicking off a series of tourism and cultural promotion activities and showcasing Hai Phong’s capacity to host international events.

For the first time in the more than 70-year history of Miss World, Vietnam has been selected to host the pageant. Following the opening activities in Quang Ninh, from August 12 to 20, Doi Rong International Tourism Area will serve as the “shared home” for more than 130 representatives from countries and territories around the world, while also hosting a range of pageant activities.
On August 12, more than 130 contestants will gather at Doi Rong International Tourism Area to begin their journey in Hai Phong. On August 13, the contestant announcement ceremony will take place, featuring name-tag presentations, the Voting Show, an international press conference and a welcome reception.
On August 14 and 15, the contestants will experience and film promotional content at Doi Rong. The mangrove forest, Dragon Golf Links, Thuy Tinh Water Park, Dragon Beach and other scenic spaces within the tourism area will serve as filming locations, showcasing Do Son and Hai Phong to international audiences.
On August 16, the contestants will compete in the Talent Audition. On August 17, the Chef Beauty cultural and culinary exchange will take place with the participation of ambassadors’ spouses. Combining cultural exchange, cuisine and experiential activities, the program will help introduce distinctive aspects of Vietnam to international guests.
Notably, the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVI - Top Model is scheduled to take place at Dragon Beach on August 18. The coastal setting of Do Son will become the stage for a fashion show, creating one of the highlights of the Miss World journey in Hai Phong.
The Hai Phong leg will conclude on August 19 with the Sport Challenge. The contestants will take part in sporting activities before continuing their Miss World 2026 journey. The series of activities will help promote Do Son to international audiences through a variety of tourism settings.
Ready for an international-scale event
Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, a representative of Doi Rong International Tourism Area, said the site is focusing on upgrading its overall infrastructure and landscaping while improving accommodation, dining and tourism experiences.
“This is an opportunity to introduce to international audiences a new image of Do Son, more modern, dynamic, professional and experience-rich, and, importantly, fully capable of hosting events of international scale,” said Trang.
Nguyen Minh Duc Loc, General Manager of the five-star Dream Dragon Resort, said preparations were being carried out simultaneously across multiple departments. In addition to inspecting facilities, the hotel is completing service procedures and preparing ingredients, food supplies and other necessary conditions to accommodate the continuous schedule of activities.
“We want to convey an image of friendliness and thoughtfulness, as well as the image of a modern and civilized Vietnam,” said Loc.
Venues for Miss World activities are also being finalized. Dragon Beach has been upgraded to host the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVI - Top Model. Venues for the Talent Audition, Sport Challenge and exchange activities are being reviewed in terms of space, equipment and service conditions.
The preparations for and hosting of Miss World 2026 will help Hai Phong strengthen its event-hosting capacity while continuing to attract major events, thereby promoting the image of a modern, dynamic and professional Hai Phong that is ready for integration.
