Hai Phong supports 2026 – 2030 sustainable business
The Hai Phong People's Committee has issued Plan No. 267/KH-UBND to implement the Prime Minister's Decision No. 926/QD-TTg on the 2026 – 2030 Sustainable Business Support Program.
Under Plan No. 267/KH-UBND, Hai Phong aims to support 500 – 1,000 enterprises, business households, and cooperatives in accessing the 2026 – 2030 Sustainable Business Support Program's activities.
Hai Phong also targets the development of 3 – 5 exemplary sustainable business models of the city, the organization of at least 15 training courses on sustainable business practices, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, green finance, and circular economy, the establishment of a network of consultants on sustainable business, and stronger connections between businesses and sources of green credit and green investment.
To achieve these goals, the city People’s Committee has outlined a range of support measures. A key solution is developing an ecosystem that helps enterprises, business households, and cooperatives adopt sustainable business practices. This includes preparing guidance materials, disseminating information, and conducting communication campaigns through mass media and social media to raise public awareness.
The plan also emphasizes improving the capacity of officials and public employees involved in managing, supporting, and advising on sustainable business. A strong network of professional consultants is expected to help drive business transformation.
The city will also develop digital platforms to facilitate information sharing, exchange best practices, and connect businesses with green investors and financial institutions providing green credit. In addition, it will encourage public-private partnership initiatives to promote sustainable investment and generate positive social and environmental impacts.
According to the plan, enterprises, business households, and cooperatives will be eligible for support if they meet at least one of the following criteria: holding international, national, provincial, or ISO certifications related to green transformation, circular economy, environment, ESG adoption, inclusive business, sustainable business, or corporate social responsibility; being recognized as a social enterprise under Vietnamese law; implementing green or circular projects that adopt the ESG framework in accordance with legal provisions; meeting the criteria for sustainable business models published on the National Portal for Supporting Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises; or satisfying the sustainable business model assessment framework set out in the appendix to Decision No. 926/QD-TTg.
