Hai Phong People's Committee Chairman Do Thanh Trung inspects projects in western area
Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Do Thanh Trung has called for faster construction progress on projects while urging communes and wards to strive to exceed their socio-economic development targets.
Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the city People's Committee, inspected the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and the progress of several projects in some communes and wards in the western part of the city on July 23.
Before meeting with the local authorities, Trung inspected the progress of the Tan Truong Expanded Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Project and the project to construct frontage roads along the right side of National Highway 5 from Ghe to Lai Cach intersections (Km40 + 240 – Km43 + 870), including the remaining sections from the Lai Cach Commercial Urban Area to the end of Cam Binh Shoes JSC. on the left side of the route (Km44 + 250 – Km44 + 795).
Trung urged the People's Committees of Mao Dien commune and Tu Minh and Viet Hoa wards to accelerate site clearance and hand over cleared grounds to investors and contractors for project implementation.
He also asked investors and contractors to make full use of available time, prepare sufficient materials, equipment, and workforce, and begin construction immediately upon receiving each cleared section, while ensuring construction quality, technical and aesthetic standards, traffic safety, and environmental hygiene.
Trung and his delegation later met with the People's Committees of six communes and wards of Tu Minh, Viet Hoa, Cam Giang, Cam Giang, Tue Tinh, and Mao Dien to review the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and national defense and security in the first six months as well as key tasks and solutions for the remaining months of 2026.
Representatives of the communes and wards proposed that the city study and submit to the city People's Council adjustments to the revenue-sharing ratio for land-use fees.
They also called for funding to upgrade and expand Roads 194C and 19, as well as Provincial Road 394C, to improve transport connectivity and attract investment.
In addition, they requested financial support to address issues related to household waste and invest in infrastructure such as schools and transportation facilities in communes and wards with numerous industrial parks and industrial clusters, where rapid population growth has increased demand for public services.
Concluding the meeting, Trung commended the six communes and wards for their achievements in socio-economic development during the first half of the year.
He urged the localities to clearly identify their advantages and capitalize on their strengths in pursuing sustainable socio-economic development.
Regarding site clearance for the projects, he called on local authorities to take more decisive action to ensure project schedules are met, adding that the city authorities had taken note of the proposals raised at the meeting and would consider them.
