As Hai Phong accelerates its digital transformation, reporters at Hai Phong Newspaper and Radio-Television have also adapted their newsroom practices, making news production faster, more flexible and increasingly digital.At city events, reporters are on site promptly, using laptops and smartphones connected via Wi-Fi or mobile data to gather, process and file stories directly from the scene.Audio recording, photography, video shooting, data entry and even speech-to-text transcription are all carried out on mobile devices, significantly reducing news production time.Content can be transmitted to the newsroom anytime and from virtually anywhere, including while travelling or reporting in the field. Content management systems (CMSs) also enable rapid editing and publishing.For photojournalists, connecting cameras directly to smartphones allows images to be processed, edited and transmitted almost instantly.Materials of most conferences and events are now provided through QR codes instead of printed documents, enabling journalists to access information more quickly and conveniently.However, transmitting large data files can still be challenging in areas where network connectivity remains unstable.According to the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology, the city's digital infrastructure is being expanded rapidly, with 4G coverage reaching 100% and 5G available to 98% of the population. All administrative agencies now process documents electronically. The digital infrastructure provides a solid foundation for local media organizations to improve reporting efficiency and meet the demands of journalism in the digital era.
