Customs Sub-Department Region III successfully completes all assigned tasks

In the first six months of 2026, Customs Sub-Department Region III successfully fulfilled all political tasks and targets assigned by the central government and the city.

On the morning of July 15, Customs Sub-Department Region III held a conference to review its performance in the first six months of 2026 and deploy tasks for the remaining six months of the year.

Attending the conference were Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee; and Mr. Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee.

In the first six months of 2026, Customs Sub-Department Region III successfully fulfilled all political tasks and targets assigned by the central government and the city, while strongly promoting customs modernization efforts.

Notably, the unit achieved double-digit growth in state budget revenue collection and successfully implemented centralized customs clearance in conjunction with the reallocation of administrative areas and organizational restructuring toward a model that is streamlined, compact, efficient, effective, and high-performing.

After just over one month of operation, from June 1, 2026 to the present, the unit's centralized customs clearance system has processed more than 64,000 customs declarations, ensuring smooth import and export activities. The entire system has operated in a stable and efficient manner.

The fight against smuggling and trade fraud has been carried out in a comprehensive and determined manner across all areas and locations, focusing on key specialized campaigns and priority commodities. As a result, the unit has detected and handled numerous notable cases.

The unit has also placed emphasis on implementing practical activities to strengthen and develop the Customs–Business Partnership.

Recognizing and praising the comprehensive achievements of Customs Sub-Department Region III in the first six months of 2026, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Tran Van Quan highly appreciated the unit's pioneering role in launching the country's first pilot model of centralized customs clearance.

This model has facilitated import and export activities, accelerated the flow of goods, and streamlined customs procedures. It serves as clear evidence of the sound policy direction in customs modernization, meeting the development requirements of Hai Phong City and the country as a whole.

The Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee requested that Customs Sub-Department Region III continue promoting its achievements and focus on key tasks for the remaining six months of the year. The unit was encouraged to strive for state budget revenue collection of VND 100 trillion and further enhance the role of the customs force in implementing the city's strategic development objectives.

He also requested the unit to advise on mechanisms and policies to support the establishment and development of the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone, promote trade facilitation, expand logistics services, and improve connectivity capacity among border gates, seaports, and airports.

The sub-department will continue to effectively implement the centralized customs clearance model, considering it a breakthrough step in administrative reform and customs modernization. It will strongly innovate its approach to supporting businesses in a practical and effective manner, while improving the quality of analysis, forecasting, and strategic consultation for the city.

The unit will also coordinate with relevant inter-agency forces to ensure transnational maritime security and focus on building a professional customs force capable of meeting task requirements in the new situation.

Leaders of the Hai Phong People's Committee acknowledged the recommendations and proposals of Customs Sub-Department Region III and assigned relevant departments and agencies, based on their professional functions, to promptly advise on solutions and create favorable conditions for the sub-department to effectively implement the centralized customs clearance model, develop digital customs, and prepare necessary conditions for the development of the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone.
