Hai Phong spreads green living
Hai Phong has handed over 99 electric cars to commune-level authorities, improving administrative efficiency while also promoting the message of green transport and sustainable development.

The city recently transferred 99 electric cars to 98 communes, wards and special zones for common-use purposes. By equipping local authorities in Hai Phong with electric cars, the city has sent a broader message. It reflects the city’s commitment to investing in facilities and equipment for communes, wards and special zones after the merger and the operation of the two-tier local government system.
At the same time, handing over 99 electric cars to commune-level authorities conveys a green, safe, economical and sustainable message. Instead of petrol-powered vehicles, the city chose electric cars as a Vietnamese brand auto manufacturing factory located in Hai Phong.
This move is intended to put into practice Resolution No. 08-NQ/TU of the city Party Committee’s Executive Board on Hai Phong’s green transition for 2026-2030, with a vision to 2050.
The city has set a target for 2030 that 100% of newly purchased or replacement buses and public service vehicles, except specialized vehicles, will run on electricity or other green energy sources.
Hai Phong’s simultaneous introduction of electric cars into public-sector use has created a strong effect not only in agencies and offices, but also in public awareness, encouraging residents to use greener and cleaner forms of transport.
