The cultural and culinary activities held at the city’s central flower garden area attract a large number of residents and visitors during the Hai Phong 2026 Red Flamboyant Festival.

Based on the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Trung Kien at a recent meeting on the development of a pedestrian street and the night-time economy, the pedestrian street is set to begin operations in early August 2026, running from 4 p.m. to midnight every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the central flower garden area and the City Theater.

One highlight of the plan is the creation of a digital Hai Phong food map, integrated into the Smart Hai Phong app. The Department of Science and Technology has been assigned to work with Foody and ShopeeFood to synchronize data and build a platform promoting food outlets, OCOP products and tourism services, helping boost the digital economy and improve the experience of residents and visitors.

The pedestrian street is expected to build on the success of activities held in the central flower garden area and around the city Theater during the Hai Phong 2026 Red Flamboyant Flower Festival. Over the seven festival days, the area welcomed about 128,800 visitors, with a wide range of cultural and artistic events and distinctive culinary spaces, helping promote Hai Phong as a dynamic and friendly city.
