Rail operator adds weekend LP9 service on Hanoi–Hai Phong route
To meet rising passenger demand during the summer travel season, Vietnam's railway sector will operate an additional LP9 train on the Hanoi–Hai Phong route on Saturdays from July 4 through the end of August.

The LP9 train will depart from Hanoi Station at 7:15 a.m. and arrive at Hai Phong Station at 10:07 a.m. It will stop at Long Bien, Gia Lam, Cam Giang, Hai Duong, Phu Thai, Thuong Ly and Hai Phong stations. Fares start at 165,000 dong per trip. The train will not accept checked baggage.
Under the plan, each additional LP9 service will provide about 500 seats, helping increase passenger capacity on the Hanoi–Hai Phong route during the peak summer travel period.
Passenger numbers on the Hanoi–Hai Phong route have increased significantly in July and August in recent years as Hai Phong enters its beach tourism season. Many travelers choose rail services to visit destinations such as Do Son and Cat Ba and enjoy food tours in the city centre, thanks to convenient travel times, reasonable fares and improving service quality.
The additional LP9 service is expected to better meet the travel demand of residents and tourists while easing pressure on existing weekend train services on the route.
