Hai Phong sets up task force to attract high-tech and innovation investment
Hai Phong has set up a task force to attract investment in high technology and innovation as part of efforts to improve the business environment and promote sustainable economic growth.
On June 23, 2026, the Hai Phong People's Committee issued Decision No. 2324/QD-UBND establishing a task force on attracting high-tech and innovation investment across the city.
The decision aims to accelerate investment in high technology and innovation while advancing science and technology development and digital transformation in line with Politubo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
Under the decision, the task force is headed by Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee, with Le Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee, serving as standing deputy head. The task force also includes leaders of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, the Department of Science and Technology, and representatives from relevant departments, agencies and local authorities.
The task force is responsible for studying and proposing measures to strengthen investment attraction in high technology and innovation, assisting businesses and investors in resolving difficulties encountered during project implementation, and consolidating recommendations for submission to the city People's Committee.
It will also regularly assess the effectiveness of business support and investment attraction efforts in high technology and innovation, propose measures to improve governance and administrative efficiency, recommend commendations for organizations and individuals with outstanding performance, and review accountability for agencies and individuals that fail to fulfill their assigned responsibilities.
The establishment of the task force underscores Hai Phong's commitment to improving the investment and business environment, enhancing competitiveness, and attracting investment in high technology, strategic technologies and innovation.
