According to Vietnam Rail Transport Joint Stock Company, the 10% discount applies to passenger trains on several key routes.

Specifically, the Thong Nhat trains bearing the SE code on the North–South line will see ticket price reductions ranging from VND 110,000 to VND 280,000 per ticket depending on seat class. The SNT1, SNT2, SNT5 and SNT4 services on the Saigon - Nha Trang route will have reductions of VND 70,000 to VND 160,000 per ticket.

On the Hanoi - Vinh route, trains NA1/NA2 will reduce fares for 4-berth cabin coaches by VND 50,000–80,000 per ticket. The 6-berth cabins on train NA1 will receive the discount on Thursdays and Fridays each week; on train NA2 the discount applies on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The programme applies to trains departing between July 1 and August 16, 2026.

The fare cut is one of the railway sector’s measures to improve service quality, boost rail competitiveness and give the public a more affordable, safe travel option during the summer holiday season.
