Digital transformation enhances business competitiveness
Digital transformation is no longer merely a trend—it has become an essential requirement for businesses across the city to strengthen their competitiveness.

On the morning of June 26, the Hai Phong Union of Science and Technology Associations, in collaboration with the Hai Phong Electronics and Informatics Association and the Northern Coastal Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI Hai Phong), organized the scientific workshop “Enhancing the Competitiveness of Hai Phong Enterprises through Comprehensive Digital Transformation.”
At the workshop, the organizing committee, speakers, and business representatives shared the view that digital transformation is no longer simply a trend but has become an indispensable requirement for countries, localities, and businesses alike.

As the largest economic, industrial, logistics, and seaport hub in northern Vietnam, Hai Phong faces an increasingly urgent need for digital transformation across its business community. Digital transformation is regarded as a key driver for improving labor productivity, optimizing production and business management, strengthening market connectivity, enhancing competitiveness, and fostering the growth of the digital economy.
Participants at the workshop focused on analyzing and assessing the current state of digital transformation among businesses in the city, including the level of digital technology adoption, its effectiveness in production and business management, as well as the challenges encountered during implementation. Representatives from several enterprises also shared practical experiences, successful digital transformation models, and solutions for improving digital business governance.

Speakers and business representatives proposed a number of recommendations for the city, including the early introduction of mechanisms and policies to support enterprises in implementing digital transformation. They also called for the development of a digitally skilled workforce, stronger collaboration among businesses, government agencies, and the scientific community, and the establishment of a sustainable digital transformation ecosystem to enhance the competitiveness of Hai Phong's business sector.
These efforts are expected to help position Hai Phong as a leading industrial, seaport, logistics, and innovation hub in northern Vietnam, while contributing to the country's development goals through 2030 and its long-term vision toward 2045.
