Hai Phong, U.S. seek stronger investment cooperation
Hai Phong and U.S. businesses have a strong foundation for expanding cooperation in green port development, modern logistics, energy transition, digital transformation and the circular economy.

On June 24, Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee, received a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam led by Pierce Davis, Political Counselor at the embassy, during a working visit to Hai Phong.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong outlined the city's potential, advantages and socio-economic achievements.
Hai Phong currently has 35 active foreign direct investment (FDI) projects funded by U.S. investors with total registered capital of more than USD 965 million, ranking ninth nationwide by number of projects and seventh by investment capital.

He said Hai Phong's potential, strengths, newly expanded development space and attractive investment policies offered significant room for cooperation between the city and the United States.
He said this would serve as an important driver for strengthening friendship and promoting investment cooperation between the United States and Vietnam in general, and between the United States and Hai Phong in particular.

City authorities are committed to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, including U.S. businesses, to invest and operate effectively in Hai Phong, he added.
Thanking city leaders for their warm reception, Political Counselor Pierce Davis said he was impressed by Hai Phong's recent socio-economic achievements.
He said these achievements would provide an important foundation for the two sides to further expand cooperation in areas such as green port development, modern logistics, energy transition, digital transformation, the circular economy and sustainable urban development.
