Hai Phong strengthens efforts to protect wildlife
The growing sophistication of wildlife trafficking requires tighter coordination among agencies to manage, detect and strictly handle violations.

According to the Hai Phong Forest Protection Sub-department, the city adopted Plan No. 297 on November 17 2025 to publicize, combat and handle violations related to wildlife protection and the safeguarding of aquatic resources.
Under the plan, the city Forest Protection Sub-department advised the Department of Agriculture and Environment to issue implementing documents and instructed units and teams to step up wildlife management. They have been working with relevant agencies and local authorities to inspect, monitor and promptly handle cases of wildlife-related legal violations.
In the coming period, the Hai Phong Forest Protection Sub-department called for stronger public awareness campaigns on biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection; increased inspection and control of facilities that breed or trade wildlife; improved inter-agency coordination; and strict punishment for violations related to wildlife protection.
It is necessary to reduce wildlife poaching and trading, contributing to biodiversity protection in Vietnam and the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
