Kien Quoc ragworm rice earns USDA Organic certification, paving the way for global exports
After two and a half years of developing a linked production area, Kien Quoc rice grown in ragworm paddy fields has obtained USDA Organic certification from the United States.

Kien Quoc Agriculture Joint Stock Company said it secured USDA Organic certification after two and a half years of meeting stringent requirements for its linked rice production area.
The company is the first in northern Vietnam to receive organic certification from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, paving the way for Hai Phong rice exports to global markets.
USDA Organic is a stringent organic certification standard administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ensuring that products contain more than 95% organic ingredients and are produced without harmful chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or genetically modified organisms.
According to company director Tran Van Trung, the company has worked closely with farmers to monitor irrigation water sources and emissions around the cultivation area in order to meet the certification requirements.

The company also helped farmers shift away from the overuse of crop protection chemicals by importing and supporting the use of organic fertilizers approved in the United States.
It regularly works with domestic and international scientists to organize field workshops to assess cultivation standards and guide farmers in strictly complying with organic farming regulations.
As a result, productivity and product quality in the company's production area have steadily improved, while farmers participating in the linked model have earned higher incomes than under traditional farming methods.

Kien Quoc Agriculture Joint Stock Company has established a linked production area covering more than 40 hectares in Nghi Duong commune. Its ST25-based Kien Quoc ragworm rice brand has become the company's exclusive brand and has gained popularity among consumers in Hai Phong and other localities across northern, central and southern Vietnam.
In the 2026 spring crop, the company expanded by another 40 hectares in Vinh Bao commune, also in Hai Phong, bringing the total cultivation area to 80 hectares.
