More than VND 67.8 billion raised in the first 6 months of 2026
In the first 6 months of 2026, Hai Phong Red Cross of all levels mobilized over VND 67.8 billion in resources for social and humanitarian activities.
A standout campaign was the ‘Loving Tet’ 2026, during which, the city Red Cross of all levels raised and distributed 57,078 gift packages worth a total of VND 34.2 billion, an average of VND 600,000 per package. This represents a 12% increase in the number of packages and a 35.6% rise in humanitarian value compared with the central Red Cross’s targets.
Under the theme ‘80 Years – A journey of compassion for the community,” during the 2026 Humanitarian Month, the city Red Cross mobilized support from agencies, businesses and philanthropists to build 20 gratitude houses worth VND 1.95 billion; provide livelihood aid to 26 households worth VND 130 million; and, in partnership with Hanoi - Hai Phong Eye Hospital, deliver basic and specialized eye examinations to about 28,000 people. The campaign also supplied medicine cabinets for schools, with a combined value of VND 16.6 billion.
The Red Cross at grassroots level simultaneously implemented a range of practical assistance, including building gratitude houses, giving gifts, providing emergency allowances, and distributing wheelchairs, bicycles and scholarships to policy beneficiaries, poor households and people in difficult circumstances, with total support approaching VND 3 billion.
