Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Tran Van Quan and the Japanese delegation posed for a commemorative photo beside the ancestral lychee tree in Thanh Ha Commune.

The delegation was led by Mr. Yushita Hiroyuki, former Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam.

Deputy Chairman Tran Van Quan said Hai Phong lychees have been on the Japanese market since 2019, and exports of fresh lychees to Japan have grown in recent years, underscoring the fruit’s brand and quality.

He expressed hope that the survey would open opportunities to connect producers with buyers and further expand export markets. With production areas following safe farming procedures, traceable planting area codes and packing facilities that meet export requirements, Hai Phong lychees are expected to strengthen their brandname in the Japanese market.

Earlier, the Japanese delegation visited and presented gifts to Chu Van An Secondary School in Thanh Ha Commune and learned about Chu Dau ceramics in Thai Tan Commune.
