Hai Phong focuses on preparations for major city events
Hai Phong is preparing to announce a series of decisions by the Prime Minister on the establishment of a specialized economic zone, the planning of the southern coastal economic zone and the launch of the city's free trade zone.

At a meeting on June 16, the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee discussed personnel matters, the reorganization of public service units, special development mechanisms and preparations for several upcoming major events.
The meeting was chaired by Le Ngoc Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly delegation.

The meeting was also attended by Do Manh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee; Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee; Le Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council; Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with members of the Party Committee's Standing Committee and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee discussed plans for approving management personnel planning for the 2025-2030 and 2026-2031 terms, as well as the 2030-2035 and 2031-2036 terms, covering departments, agencies, affiliated units and the Party Committee of the city's Party agencies.
Participants also reviewed plans to reorganize public service units in accordance with Government Resolution No. 105/NQ-CP and the city's Action Program No. 07-CTr/TU, preparations for a draft amendment to National Assembly Resolution No. 226/2025/QH15 on piloting special mechanisms and policies for Hai Phong's development, and arrangements for a conference announcing the Prime Minister's decisions on the establishment of the specialized economic zone, the southern coastal economic zone plan and the operation of the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone.

The meeting also discussed plans for the groundbreaking ceremony of a service zone project within the expanded Dai An Industrial Park, which includes accommodation facilities for workers and experts.
On preparations for the conference, Party Secretary Le Ngoc Chau instructed relevant agencies to continue reviewing and finalizing the program and logistical arrangements to ensure the event is professionally organized and commensurate with its importance and scale. ⭐

He said the conference would not only publicize key decisions by central authorities but also provide an opportunity to promote Hai Phong's image and highlight its position, potential, competitive advantages and new development orientation for the coming period.
Party Secretary Le Ngoc Chau also called for a comprehensive review of the effectiveness of investment promotion activities. He said such efforts should be made more substantive and results-oriented, with project implementation and contributions to economic growth and budget revenues serving as key indicators.
He also urged authorities to proactively study and translate new policies and resolutions issued by central authorities on foreign-invested and private-sector economic development into concrete measures, helping formulate investment attraction policies suited to the requirements of the new development stage.
