Businesses seek high-quality workforce
Demand for recruits in the city’s industrial parks and economic zones is rising alongside production expansions.

Amid production expansions, many firms are struggling to find high-quality workers to meet development needs. According to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, in the first recruitment round in May 2025, 54 companies across nine industrial parks and economic zones registered to fill more than 500 positions in management, high-level technical and mid-level technical positions. These jobs require professional qualifications, experience and the ability to adapt to modern production environments. Meanwhile, the supply of highly skilled labour is limited, and requirements for vocational skills, foreign languages and the ability to work in high-tech settings are growing stricter.
To tackle the shortage of skilled workers, many businesses are proactively partnering with educational and training institutions to develop high quality human resources. Brother Vietnam Industrial Limited Company signed a training cooperation agreement with Hong Lac University. Hai Phong Technical College has reached a partnership with Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd.; after more than a year of implementation, the company has contributed to curriculum design, provided practice facilities and equipment, assigned staff to mentor students and committed to hiring qualified graduates.
The Central Hai Duong College of Pharmacy has also strengthened cooperation with domestic and foreign firms such as Bach Hop Pharmaceutical JSC, Vstar International Trading and Services JSC, and EDA BEAUTÉ SPA. Partners collaborate on training and recruitment, scientific research, technology transfer and student internships.
At the end of April, Hai PHong city People’s Committee held a recruitment fair for businesses in industrial parks and economic zones and launched networking activities connecting companies with higher-education and vocational institutions in the city. Universities, colleges and enterprises signed multiple memoranda of understanding at the event, and training institutions handed over and accepted 300 students to enterprises in the industrial parks and economic zones.
In the coming period, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority will continue coordinating with the Department of Home Affairs, the city’s Labour Federation, the Department of Education and Training and enterprises to survey recruitment needs, promote job exchanges, link labour supply and demand, and help businesses access suitable human resources. The city will also focus on modernizing vocational education, improving training quality in technical, high-tech and logistics fields to meet the needs of industrial development in the new phase.
