Tan Vu Port authorized to handle 55,000-DWT vessels

The navigation channel between the upstream sections of Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port and Dinh Vu Port has been dredged, enabling Tan Vu Port to handle 55,000 DWT vessels for cargo operations.

Vietnam's Maritime and Inland Waterways Administration under the Ministry of Construction has announced the technical specifications of the channel section between the upstream areas of Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port and Dinh Vu Port, as well as the expansion of the existing turning basin, under the Hai Phong navigation channel upgrade project.

Under the announcement, the channel section has been dredged to a depth of minus 8.5 meters and a width of 80 meters. The turning basin has a width of 160 meters and a depth of minus 8.5 meters.

Following the upgrade, the administration has authorized berths No. 1 to No. 5 at Tan Vu Port, operated by Hai Phong Port JSC, to handle vessels of up to 55,000 DWT.
