Outbound summer travel gains momentum in Hai Phong
Hai Phong's summer travel market is gaining momentum as more travelers sign up for overseas tours.

Northeast Asia tours draw strong demand
Having recently returned from a five-day trip to Dali and Lijiang in China's Yunnan province, Tran Van Hung and his family from Le Chan ward still speak enthusiastically about the experience.
"What we enjoyed most was the relaxed itinerary. We did not have to move around constantly or spend too much time shopping. The scenery in Dali and Lijiang was beautiful, the weather was pleasant and the direct flight from Hai Phong made the trip much more convenient," Hung said.
Like Hung's family, many travelers in Hai Phong this summer are opting for overseas vacations centered on relaxation, cultural experiences and nature exploration rather than tightly packed sightseeing schedules. The trend is helping fuel a vibrant summer travel market in 2026.
According to Nguyen Thi Huyen Chang, Deputy Director of G-one Travel JSC, the number of customers during the summer season has doubled from the first quarter of 2026 and increased slightly from a year earlier. Tours to China, along with Japan and Busan in South Korea, are proving the most popular among customers.
For domestic trips, travelers are increasingly choosing nearby destinations such as Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Moc Chau and Hoa Binh. In the outbound market, customers are placing greater emphasis on relaxed itineraries, distinctive experiences and packages that do not require mandatory shopping stops.
Travel agencies in the city say tourists are paying more attention to service quality, authentic experiences and leisure time rather than opting for low-cost packages.
China has emerged as one of the highlights of this year's summer season. Tours to Yunnan destinations including Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La are attracting large numbers of travelers from Hai Phong, supported by convenient air connections from Cat Bi International Airport and competitive prices.
South Korea and Japan also remain popular choices among travelers from Hai Phong. Busan, in particular, has attracted growing interest. According to Booking.com, the South Korean city has climbed sharply in the rankings of the international destinations most searched by Vietnamese travelers for the summer season.
Beyond Northeast Asia, travel companies have also reported steady demand for European tours among higher-spending customers.

Travel firms refresh products
One advantage for Hai Phong's tourism market is its expanding network of international flights. Travelers departing from Cat Bi International Airport can now reach a number of destinations in China and South Korea within relatively short travel times, reducing both costs and travel duration while making trips more convenient for families with children and elderly members.
In response to changing travel preferences, many travel companies in Hai Phong are shifting toward higher-end products.
Nguyen Thi Huyen Chang said G-one Travel is focusing on customers seeking premium holiday experiences, offering "no shopping" packages that place greater emphasis on sightseeing, culinary experiences and high-quality accommodation.
The number of students joining short trips that combine leisure activities with team building programs and gala events has also risen sharply this summer.
Supported by convenient international flights from Cat Bi International Airport and increasingly diverse travel demand, Hai Phong's outbound tourism market is expected to remain vibrant this summer, particularly in the segments of leisure, experiential and high-quality travel products.
