Hai Phong promotes its role as a growth pole in the North
Hai Phong faces the need to renew its growth model, take all advantages and create new drivers to achieve rapid, sustainable breakthroughs.
In meetings with the city, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung noted Hai Phong must better exploit its potential and strengths to deliver higher economic growth.
Looking back in recent years, Hai Phong has affirmed its position as a major growth pole in northern Vietnam. A modern port system, a strong network of industrial zones, increasingly integrated transport infrastructure and an investor-friendly environment have made the city especially attractive to domestic and foreign investors. The city has consistently ranked among the country’s leaders in investment attraction, administrative reform and quality of economic governance. The city’s socio-economic results in the first five months of 2026 continue to reflect this momentum: seven of eight key economic indicators have met or exceeded the growth scenario.
These outcomes demonstrate the determination, initiative and effectiveness of political leadership and administration, together with the joint efforts of the business community and residents to realize development goals. The growth targets for 2026 and the 2026–2030 period present both challenges and opportunities for Hai Phong to affirm its resilience and position. The city now has many favorable conditions to achieve those goals, and above all, a strong collective aspiration to rise expressed by the Party committee, the authorities, the business community and the people.
When determination is concretized into actions; when major policies turn into projects and tangible results; and when genuine renewal becomes the engine of development, Hai Phong city will not only meet its 2026 growth targets but also lay a solid foundation for longer-term progress.
