Building a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful Hai Phong
Building a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful Hai Phong is not only the task of authorities and agencies but it also begins with the awareness, responsibility and concrete actions of every citizen.

On the morning of June 6, all 114 communes, wards and special administrative zones throughout the city simultaneously launched a large-scale environmental sanitation campaign in response to the nationwide drive “Entire people join hands to protect the environment for a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful Vietnam,” initiated by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
The campaign drew nearly 195,400 participants from 2,633 residential areas, involving about 211,500 households, 1,084 agencies and units, 1,110 schools, nearly 1,700 enterprises and 17 Vietnam Fatherland Front member organizations.
Teams of volunteers collected many tons of waste; cleaned more than 4,570 km of roads, public areas and beaches; and planted and tended nearly 18,100 trees.
This activity is not only a response to World Environment Day and the Action Month for the Environment, but also a reminder of the shared responsibility in the city’s journey to become a civilized and modern Hai Phong port city.
When every citizen becomes a ‘green citizen’ and each residential area a ‘fortress’ protecting green and clean landscapes; when small actions are maintained regularly and community awareness spreads widely, the goal of making Hai Phong greener, cleaner and more beautiful will move beyond slogan to reality in every street, corner and countryside.
