28 Hai Phong delegates attend 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress
From June 3 to 5, the Hai Phong City trade union delegation attended the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2026–2031 term at the National Convention Center (Hanoi).
The Congress attracted 780 official delegates, representing the will, aspirations and intelligence of nearly 10 million union members nationwide.
Under the motto ‘Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation – Development’, the congress is tasked with summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2023–2026 period; reviewing the activities of the Executive Committee of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; defining goals, tasks and breakthrough measures for the 2026–2031 term; amending the Statute of Vietnam Trade Union; and electing the Executive Committee of the 14th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The congress is significant for guiding trade union activities in the new period, caring for and protecting legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. It also reaffirms the role of trade unions in building a modern, strong Vietnamese working class.
