Hai Phong promotes investment with South Korean firms

Hai Phong city delegation met with Megazone Company and the SKC Group of South Korea.

As part of an investment promotion program in South Korea, on the afternoon of June 1, the delegation, led by Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Do Thanh Trung; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority Pham Van Thep; and other members of the city working group held meetings with representatives of Megazone Company and the SKC Group.

At the meeting with Megazone, the city Chairman Do Thanh Trung informed the city’s investment potentials, advantages, and preferential policy mechanisms, and emphasized the city’s focus on high-tech and core-technology sectors. He invited Megazone leadership to visit Hai Phong to explore and concretize cooperative investment activities in the city.

Praising Hai Phong’s development, especially its high-tech orientation, Mr. Ji-Hawang Chang, CEO of Megazone said Hai Phong holds considerable potential and advantages for high-tech development and is a target market the company is eyeing. He expressed hope that cooperation between the two sides would deepen and produce many practical, effective activities, sharing future collaboration opportunities.

Mr. Jongwoo Kim, CEO of SKC Group, commended Hai Phong’s infrastructure and transport systems as well as the city’s investment potentials, advantages, and policies, saying these factors create favorable conditions for improving competitiveness and drawing investment. He expressed his desire for expanded cooperation and investment activities that will help strengthen the friendly ties between Vietnam and South Korea generally, and between SKC Group and Hai Phong city in particular.
