The agency, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has issued a directive to petroleum wholesalers, fuel producers and fuel distributors on ensuring adequate supplies of biofuel gasoline from June 1, 2026.

To meet consumer demand, the agency requested fuel producers to proactively secure gasoline feedstock supplies, speed up the blending of E5 and E10 gasoline and ensure delivery of contracted volumes to petroleum wholesalers on schedule.

Petroleum wholesalers and fuel distributors were also asked to develop plans for blending, sourcing and trading biofuel gasoline from businesses with blending facilities and from other wholesalers to ensure stable supplies across their distribution networks.

The directive is aimed at implementing Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT, issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade on Nov. 7, 2025, which sets out a roadmap for blending biofuels with conventional fuels.

Under the circular, from June 1, 2026, gasoline meeting current national technical standards must be blended into E10 gasoline for use nationwide.

At the same time, E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to be blended, produced and supplied for use until the end of 2030.
