SGS Vietnam opens new laboratory in Hai Phong
SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification group headquartered in Switzerland, operates in 115 countries with more than 2,500 laboratories and offices.

On the morning of May 29, SGS Vietnam Co., Ltd. officially opened a new laboratory at Lot CN 8.2, Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, Thien Huong Ward, Hai Phong City.
Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass and Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Trung Kien attended the opening.
In remarks at the ceremony, Swiss Ambassador Thomas Gass and Vice Chairman Le Trung Kien praised the role and contributions of Swiss businesses in Vietnam generally and in Hai Phong City in particular, highlighting their support for economic growth, technology transfer, improved governance standards and sustainable development.
The opening of SGS Vietnam’s new laboratory in Hai Phong marks an important milestone, reflecting international investors’ confidence in the city’s investment environment. It will also strengthen local capabilities in quality control, testing and product certification to international standards, helping Vietnamese companies boost competitiveness and meet increasingly strict requirements from major export markets such as the EU, the US and Japan.

The city Vice Chairman Le Trung Kien said Hai Phong is rapidly rising to become a leading national and Southeast Asian centre for economy, industry, seaports and logistics. The city is committed to continuing to improve the business investment environment; upgrading technical infrastructure, logistics and port systems; developing high-quality human resources; ensuring energy supply, especially renewable energy; and accompanying and supporting businesses to develop and succeed in the city.
