Hai Phong chairman receives delegation from Royal Netherlands Navy ship HNLMS De Ruyter
Royal Netherlands Navy ship HNLMS De Ruyter, carrying more than 200 officers and crew members, arrived at Tan Vu Port, starting a working visit to Hai Phong.

Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee, received the delegation from the Royal Netherlands Navy ship HNLMS De Ruyter during its visit to Hai Phong on the afternoon of 29 May. Representatives of city departments and agencies also attended the meeting.

The delegation included Rear Admiral Jeanette Morang, Special Envoy of the Chief of Defense of the Netherlands, and Kees van Baar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Do Thanh Trung warmly welcomed Rear Admiral Jeanette Morang, Ambassador Kees van Baar and crew members of HNLMS De Ruyter to Hai Phong.

Cooperation between Hai Phong and Dutch partners has continued to expand across a range of sectors, including seaports, logistics, urban development, environmental protection, digital transformation, human resource development and cultural exchanges. To date, the Netherlands has 17 direct investment projects in Hai Phong with total registered capital of about USD 361 million. Many major Dutch companies are operating effectively in the city, particularly in the maritime and logistics sectors.
The chairman highly appreciated the active support and cooperation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam in promoting cooperative programs between the two sides in recent years.

He said the visit by HNLMS De Ruyter would not only help maintain the relationship between the two countries but also strengthen mutual understanding, trust and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and the Netherlands, as well as between Hai Phong and its Dutch partners.
Do Thanh Trung noted that Hai Phong is the largest port city in northern Vietnam and serves as a major industrial and logistics hub and an important gateway for international trade.
With its goal of becoming a modern, smart, green and sustainable industrial city, Hai Phong attaches importance to expanding cooperation with international partners, including the Netherlands, one of the European partners that has maintained highly effective cooperation with the city.
He expressed hope that cooperation between Hai Phong and Dutch partners in such areas as green port development, smart logistics, sustainable urban development, renewable energy and high-quality workforce training would continue to grow in the coming years.
On behalf of the delegation, Rear Admiral Jeanette Morang thanked city leaders for their warm reception and said she was pleased to visit the dynamic, fast-developing and hospitable port city of Hai Phong.
Earlier, HNLMS De Ruyter, carrying more than 200 officers and crew members, arrived at Tan Vu Port.
During the visit, the delegation will meet with city leaders and the Naval Region 1 Command, take part in sports exchanges and a friendship cycling event, and visit historical and cultural sites.
