Hai Phong's total retail sales of goods and service revenue rise 15.3% in five months
In the first five months of 2026, total retail sales of goods and service revenue in Hai Phong are estimated at VND 172,991 billion, up 15.3% compared with the same period last year.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, retail sales of goods and service revenue in May 2026 are estimated at VND 34,919 billion, an increase of 16.4%.
Supply of essential items, especially petroleum products, in the city has been maintained stably. However, some product groups show a downward trend: revenue from petroleum and fuels has declined because recent adjustments sharply reduced fuel prices; revenue from gold and precious metals fell as gold prices continued to drop in recent days.
In the last months of 2026, the Department of Industry and Trade will direct the Market Management force to coordinate with competent agencies to strengthen inspections, control, and management; detect, prevent, and strictly handle acts of storing, transporting, and trading banned or smuggled goods, producing and trading counterfeit or poor-quality products, goods infringing intellectual property rights, and commercial fraud to protect the market and consumers.
