Showers forecast across Hai Phong, whirlwinds possible at sea
According to the city’s Hydro - meteorological Station, showers and thunderstorms are forecast across many areas of Hai Phong on May 28, while whirlwinds may occur over coastal waters.
In the city’s administrative center and Municipal Theater area, skies will be mostly cloudy with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Southern winds are expected at force 2, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 34 degrees Celsius.
In northwestern parts of the city, including Chi Linh, Tran Hung Dao, Nam Sach, Cam Giang and Binh Giang, showers and scattered thunderstorms are forecast. Temperatures are expected to range from 27 to 34 degrees Celsius.
Similar weather conditions are forecast in southwestern areas, including Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, Hong Chau and Tu Ky, with showers and scattered thunderstorms and temperatures of 27-34 degrees Celsius.
Coastal areas, including Cat Hai and Do Son, are expected to see mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms. South to southeasterly winds are forecast at force 3-4, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius.
Over the Gulf of Tonkin and the Bach Long Vy special zone, isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast during the day, becoming more scattered at night. Whirlwinds and strong gusts may occur during thunderstorms. Visibility is expected to exceed 10 km, falling to 4-10 km during rain.
Humidity across most areas is forecast at 85-90%.
