China Railway Nanning Group said a container train carrying 170 tons of calcium hydroxide departed from Guigang Station in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on May 23, passing through Nanning International Railway Port for transshipment before heading to Yen Vien Station in Vietnam.

The route was launched after the “Liuzhou-Nanning-Vietnam” railway route became fully connected.

A representative of the Zhanjiang Railway Logistics Center under China Railway Nanning Group said the intermodal rail freight model offers greater flexibility and adaptability, enabling cargo transport across multiple routes and regions while meeting increasingly diverse logistics demand from businesses.

The model is also expected to help expand the China-Vietnam transportation market.

To ensure the stable and smooth operation of the new route, China’s railway sector has strengthened coordination among railway operators, customs authorities and businesses.

Relevant units have proactively developed container loading plans and optimized transshipment procedures, helping improve the efficiency of export transport from Chinese domestic enterprises to border gateways.

The addition of the new transport route is expected to create a more stable and efficient logistics corridor for trade between Guangxi and Vietnam, while strengthening connectivity across regional supply chains.
