Summer vacation is approaching, bringing excitement and joy for children. However, behind that excitement lies the concern of many parents about how to ensure their children can enjoy a safe holiday. To address this issue, authorities in Hong Bang Ward have proactively implemented various support measures and activities.

With the aim of providing students with a safe, healthy, and meaningful summer, on the morning of May 15, 2026, Ngo Gia Tu Primary School coordinated with the City Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights to organize a communication program on drowning prevention and home safety skills for students.

The program focused on equipping children with essential knowledge and skills to raise awareness about accident prevention and help them proactively protect themselves in dangerous situations.

Through lively question-and-answer games, students were taught how to identify drowning risks and common accident hazards, guided on prevention methods and emergency response skills, and given practice in basic first-aid techniques.

At the same time, the school launched a drawing competition themed “Safety for Children – Happiness for Every Family.” Each artwork conveyed meaningful messages about accident prevention, self-protection, and building a safe, joyful, and happy summer.

According to Principal of Ngo Gia Tu Primary School Dinh Thi Ha, through these meaningful activities, the school hopes students will actively learn, broaden their knowledge, and equip themselves with necessary life skills to protect themselves from drowning accidents, injuries, violence, child abuse, and many other risks, thereby enjoying a truly safe, joyful, and beneficial summer.

Awareness campaigns and safety education activities focusing on accident prevention, especially during the summer season, have been actively implemented by schools across Hong Bang Ward. These initiatives have received strong support from parents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, a resident of Cam Lo Residential Group in Hong Bang Ward whose child studies at Hung Vuong Primary School, shared that recent reports of children losing their lives due to drowning accidents have caused great concern among parents.

Each incident serves as a warning about carelessness and children’s lack of water safety skills. Therefore, strengthening drowning prevention education and safety guidance for children is extremely necessary.

Following the administrative merger, Hong Bang Ward now has a total of 33 schools, including 24 public schools. To help children enjoy a safe and meaningful summer, schools across the ward have recently organized a wide range of engaging activities and recreational programs.

In preparation for the summer holiday, Dinh Tien Hoang Primary School has launched various interest clubs such as chess, basketball, football, drawing, and swimming. Students can choose clubs based on their interests and preferences.

Through these activities, students not only improve their physical fitness and flexible thinking, but also develop teamwork and social skills.
