Sustainable development of Viet Nam’s maritime and logistics sectors

The METLOG 2026 conference at Viet Nam Maritime University (VMU) discussed solutions for the sustainable and smart development of the maritime and logistics sectors.

On May 15, Viet Nam Maritime University held the METLOG 2026 scientific, technical and maritime logistics conference under the theme “Sustainable and smart development for Viet Nam’s maritime and logistics sectors in the digital era.”

This is one of the events held to mark the 70th anniversary of Viet Nam Maritime University (1956-2026).

During the plenary session, delegates listened to several strategic keynote presentations by experts from state management agencies and leading enterprises, including: the Hai Phong city marine science and technology program to 2030, and the development of a maritime-logistics-shipbuilding ecosystem in the digital and green transition era.

Delegates also took part in discussions across five specialized subcommittees, focusing on key areas: maritime engineering and technology; digital technology, automation and maritime applications; marine economy, logistics, supply chains; and safety, environment, and sustainable maritime development. The topics closely followed orientations for optimizing smart seaports, green logistics, digital transformation, and advanced shipbuilding technology in line with the development direction of the city and the country.
