Hai Phong Chairman Do Thanh Trung welcomes international guests to Red Flamboyant Festival
Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, chaired meetings with delegates from Preah Sihanouk Province (Cambodia) and Nanning City (China).
On the afternoon of May 8, Mr. Do Thanh Trung chaired meetings with delegates from Preah Sihanouk Province (Cambodia) and Nanning City (China). Representatives of city departments and agencies also attended the meetings.
The Chairman of the City People’s Committee expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegations from Preah Sihanouk Province and Nanning City to Hai Phong on the occasion of significant events for the city’s Party organization, government, and people — the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 – May 13, 2026) and the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026.
Chairman Do Thanh Trung shared information on Hai Phong’s socio-economic development and the city’s key development orientations in the coming period. He also affirmed that the visit and participation of the delegates from Preah Sihanouk Province and Nanning City in the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026 reflected the special solidarity and friendship among Vietnam, China, and Cambodia, as well as between the localities and Hai Phong City.
The Chairman expressed his belief that, in the coming time, Hai Phong City, Preah Sihanouk Province, and Nanning City would continue to strengthen substantive, in-depth, and effective cooperation across various fields such as economy, trade, logistics, education and training, science and technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Representatives of the leadership of Preah Sihanouk Province and Nanning City sincerely thanked the leaders and people of Hai Phong for their warm and respectful reception, while expressing their impression of the city’s strong pace of development. They also congratulated Hai Phong on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the city’s liberation, the successful organization of the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026, and the many achievements the city has attained in its new stage of development.
The delegates expressed confidence that cooperative relations between their localities and Hai Phong City would continue to grow stronger, expanding practical and effective cooperation, thereby contributing to strengthening friendship, solidarity among the countries, and the development of their respective localities.
