Four industrial parks to break ground, expected to boost growth in Hai Phong
The simultaneous groundbreaking of four industrial parks to mark the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong’s Liberation Day is expected to create the city's additional room for growth.

Preparations completed for groundbreaking
On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong’s Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 – May 13, 2026) and the Red Flamboyant Festival Hai Phong 2026, the city plans to break ground on four industrial parks: Nam Trang Cat, Thuy Nguyen (phase 1), Hoang Dieu and Binh Giang.
The projects are located across multiple areas, helping expand industrial development space, create large-scale cleared land funds and prepare for investment attraction.
According to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, the projects have largely completed legal procedures and are focusing on site clearance and technical infrastructure to ensure groundbreaking as scheduled.
With its current development scale, Hai Phong is attracting 1,038 valid FDI projects with total capital exceeding $44 billion, along with 380 domestic projects worth about 581.254 trillion VND. As many industrial parks reach high occupancy rates, the addition of new ones is not only an immediate requirement but also a key condition to maintain investment attraction and expand room for growth in the coming period.
Site clearance has been carried out promptly by local authorities, prioritizing areas that can be handed over early.
Infrastructure investors have also prepared sufficient financial resources, manpower and construction equipment, ready to begin implementation immediately after the groundbreaking ceremonies.
Thuy Nguyen Industrial Park (phase 1), located in Bach Dang, Nam Trieu and Hoa Binh wards has total capital of nearly 4 trillion VND and a scale of 247.88 hectares. The project is oriented to allocate at least 30% of its area for high-tech projects and more than 20 hectares for small enterprises and innovative startups.
In Gia Phuc commune, Hoang Dieu Industrial Park covers 245 hectares with total investment of about 3.388 trillion VND and is also scheduled for groundbreaking in this phase.
In Hai An ward, Nam Trang Cat Industrial Park has a scale of 200.39 hectares with total capital of nearly 2.253 trillion VND, and is oriented to leverage port and logistics advantages.
Binh Giang Industrial Park is located in Thuong Hong and Nguyen Luong Bang communes. The project covers about 147 hectares with total investment of 1.755 trillion VND, aiming to attract supporting industries and strengthen production linkages.

Expanding scale, improving quality
In recent years, Hai Phong’s industrial parks and economic zones have continued to develop in both scope and depth.
The city currently has three economic zones and one free trade zone, with a total area of about 47,840 hectares, along with 45 industrial parks covering nearly 13,000 hectares, forming a relatively complete industrial infrastructure network and serving as a key driver of socio-economic development.
Under its development orientation to 2030, Hai Phong is expected to have 83 industrial parks, focusing on high-tech industries, green industries and clean energy.
At the local level, the development of new industrial parks brings tangible benefits. Nguyen Duc Dung, Vice Chairman of Nam Trieu ward People’s Committee, said the Thuy Nguyen Industrial Park (phase 1) project is expected to create jobs, increase budget revenue, improve infrastructure, promote economic restructuring toward industry and services, and enhance living standards for local residents.
At a recent meeting with local authorities and investors of the four upcoming industrial parks to review progress and finalize preparations, Pham Van Thep, member of the City Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, said the simultaneous groundbreaking in May reflects determination to accelerate key projects, expand industrial development capacity and enhance investment attraction, particularly FDI inflows.
He added that the projects will provide an important driver for Hai Phong to achieve high growth targets in 2026 and the following periods.
