Focusing on public investment allocation and disbursement

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang has requested to accelerate the public investment allocation and disbursement to drive economic growth in 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang has signed the government’s document No. 401/TTg-KTTH dated January 13, 2026, requiring concentrating on directing the acceleration the public investment allocation and disbursement in 2026.

According to the Ministry of Finance report, as of March 31, 2026, the nationwide disbursement public investment reached 11% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister, 1.2% higher in ratio than the same period in 2025 and about 29,981.4 trillion VND higher in absolute terms.

However, 14 ministries, central agencies, and 22 localities have not fully detailed the allocation of 2026 capital plans; 28 ministries, central agencies, and 18 localities have disbursement rates below the national average.

To complete the goal of disbursing 100% of the 2026 public investment capital plan and contribute to achieving the double-digit growth target, the Prime Minister has requested ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, other central agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People's Committees to concentrate on leading, directing, and flexibly and effectively organizing the implementation of tasks and solutions:

Ministries, central agencies, and localities must continue to strictly implement the resolutions, conclusions of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Government’s directives and documents on accelerating the public investment allocation and disbursement

Identify public investment disbursement as one of the most important political tasks and a key criterion for evaluating and ranking the quality of collectives and individuals according to Party Central Committee Regulation No. 366-QD/TW dated August 30, 2025.
