The Hai Phong People’s Committee has issued a plan to organize the 5th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2026 across the city, requesting departments, sectors, and localities to implement communication and response activities in a coordinated manner.

According to the plan, the main series of activities will take place from April 15 to May 15, 2026, featuring a variety of meaningful programs such as: a storytelling contest based on books with the theme “Reading Today – Pride in the Heroic Port City, Spreading the Cultural Values of the Eastern Region”; the launch and award ceremony of the 2026 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest with the theme “Books and the Aspiration to Reach Far”; and a children’s painting contest inspired by books and newspapers under the theme “I Love Hai Phong – The City of Convergence and Radiance.”

In addition, a seminar and television audience exchange will be organized under the theme “Books and Knowledge – Driving Forces for Development in an Era of a Strong and Prosperous Nation,” helping to affirm the role of knowledge and reading culture in sustainable development.

Response activities will be widely implemented across educational institutions, libraries, cultural centers, publishing, printing and distribution units, as well as localities and mass organizations, while also promoting international exchanges on books and reading culture.

Beyond the peak period, activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will continue throughout 2026, contributing to building and fostering reading habits within the community.
