Amending the law on access to information to fit digital transformation context
National Assembly delegate Pham Thuy Chinh (Hai Phong City Delegation) proposes amendments to certain contents in the draft law on access to information.

On the morning of April 12, during the discussion on the draft amended law on access to information, National Assembly Deputy Pham Thuy Chinh suggested that the drafting agency continue researching, reviewing, and refining the provisions in Article 26 on the procedures for providing information.
As for her, mandating the use of a request form for information provision could create unnecessary procedural barriers to citizens' right to access information.
Therefore, the NA deputy proposed stipulating in the law only that 'the requester submits the information request in writing or electronic form, ensuring identification of the requester and the content of the information needed'.
NA deputy Pham Thuy Chinh also suggested removing certain provisions to align with the current law-building orientation, while giving administrative agencies flexibility to choose implementation methods in the digital transformation context.
