Temperatures ease slightly in Hai Phong, but remain high
Temperatures in Hai Phong eased slightly but remained high, while northern Vietnam continued to face widespread heat, with some areas experiencing severe conditions.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, hot weather persisted across the northern region on April 13, with intense heat recorded in several locations.
Minimum temperatures are forecast at 24–27 degrees Celsius, dropping below 23 degrees in some places, while maximum temperatures range from 33–36 degrees, exceeding 37 degrees in certain areas.
In Quang Ninh and Hai Phong, coastal factors kept temperatures lower than in surrounding areas, typically at 31–33 degrees Celsius. Despite the lower temperatures, high humidity maintained uncomfortable conditions.
Mean while, the northwestern region recorded severe heat, with temperatures in some areas exceeding 38 degrees Celsius. Localised showers and thunderstorms are likely in the late afternoon and evening, with risks of whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong winds.
Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue recorded severe to exceptionally severe heat, with maximum temperatures ranging from 37–40 degrees Celsius, exceeding 40 degrees in some places.
Along the south-central coast, conditions are sunny during the day, with northern parts experiencing intense heat, while scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected later, posing risks of extreme weather.
The Central Highlands saw widespread heat, with some areas experiencing severe conditions, while scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast in the late afternoon and evening.
Southern Vietnam continued to see hot conditions during the day, with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected later.
The weather agency warned that, in addition to the heat, thunderstorms, whirlwinds and hail could occur suddenly in the late afternoon across multiple areas. Residents were advised to take precautions to minimise risks.
